    Post Internet Problems

I am working on a clone PC and i am having problems that i can't pin point what's happening. They customer was having problems connecting to netzero. It would apear that it would connect and then gat a message about not communicating with the server. So i installed my own dial up account. Tested and the pc would connect to the net. I opened a browser and get the "The page cannot be displayed" error. I removed all the dial up networking, TCP/IP, and dial up adapter, I tried a different modem. Still nothing will work. Can anyone shead some light on this delima.

    Thanks

Sounds like another winsock2 registry fix is in store. This one has been posted a few times, but i can't remember any of the topic names; also, I have yet to need to use it but i hear it works like a charm.

As I recall the instructions were to frist remove Dialup Networking from windows add/remove programs/windows. Then, within the Registry, under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Currentcontrolset\servic es\ is the Winsock2 key. Delete the whole key. Restart, readd dialup networking and it should work.

Now there are more than one winsock2 keys in the registry, so you may want to wait for someone to confirm these instructions, as I am not 100% sure of the path...
