New H/D only showing 2 Gigs in bios
Ok, added a new harddrive to my g/f's system
Maxtor 15 gig ata100
on bootup was recognized in bios as 15 gigs
fdisked and formatted to installed the O/S now it comes up as 2 gigs.
downloaded the Maxblast tools...installed/uninstalled ezbios....bios still sees it as 2 gigs....windows sees it as 15 gigs....i already flashed the bios and wrote zeros to the drive...cleared nvram...new cable....jumpers are good.
the motherboard is an Epox 8kta2 with a duron 700...160 megs of ram...NOT overclocked. the system boots fine and screams through applications with out any problem....the only thing is on the bios boot screen is the 2 gig showing and then the ezbios initializing....uninstalling thing. any ideas? I've tried just about everything i can think of....thanks

did you try reseting the the bios to to defaults..also be sure that LBA didn't get turned off in the bios if it did that would cause the bios to only see a 2.1gb hdd but using EZbios would allow you to format it out to full capacity just like if you installed it on a system that didn't support large drives...
