7200 wd and pcpartner ?
well, listen.....
had a customer complaining about "primary disk fail " while booting.
just installed a new wd 20gb 7200 hd a few days ago in his computer.
when i came to his house, i saw the error.
the strange thing was that a secondary hard disk who was caonnected as slave on the same cable, was auto detected in the bios and the wd didnt.
i replaced the hd, and cables and took it to my lab.tried the disk on my computer and after 2 days of work the problem returned on my computer, so i thought it must be the disk.
connected a 15gb wd 7200 to the same computer with another cable, and got after a day whule working "unable to write to drive see" BSOD.
well, both boards (mine and the client) are pc partner boards (his lx-celeron 400 mine via 133- p3 733).
it doesnt seems to me that are any problem , except for the WD controllers board.
what do you think ?

Pcpartners boards ?....aren't they made (= thrown together) by PCchips (regularly abused in these forums)? That may be the problem, I won't touch anything from that bunch at anything over 66 MHz bus speed, and I keep my fingers crossed at 66 ....
