Dell Dimension and Processor Upgrades
What is the fastest processor I can put in a Dell Dimension XPS T450? It currently has a P3 450 and the latest BIOS revision.

It is a discontinued line. The only way to get any info on it is through support. I have looked everywhere, and sent them emails. They do not respond.

What is the date of the latest BIOS revision?
I'd assume right out of the box that you can upgrade it to any P3 using the Katmai core. If this BIOS update came out after Coppermine was released, then yes, coppermine. If my memory serves me right, anything below 800mhz is a Katmai core but I can't be sure.

When you went to the Dell Support page, did you put in your Service tag number? It's a bar code with 5 letters and/or numbers and it's the best way to get a system-specific help page from Dell.

You may also want to check out the "Reference and Troubleshooting Guide" sent out with new Dell systems...this book has detailed information on system components and upgrades.
