Dual Boot PC, reload question...
Hey Howdy Hey Folks.
Machine "X" is dual booting 98se and XP Pro. I want to format the 98 partition and reload it. Yes I am stuck in the past and still use 98 for a few things.
Anyhoo, last time I horsed around with this activity, I lost my boot menu after the reload and could only boot to 98. I tried the XP recovery console to get my dual boot back, but ended up having to overlay XP in order to get my boot menu. I didn't see a boot.ini on the 98 partition so like a dumba$$ i just formatted thinking it would work itself out with a little help from XP.
SO= would one of our fabulous and wise team members enlighten me on the intelligent way to reload 98 without losing my boot menu.
Please and thank you!

Backup boot.ini and NTLDR before formatting, format and reinstall 98 the normal way and then copy the boot.ini and NTLDR back.
