MB Went Dead, Whats best replacement?
I have a MSI (Microstar) MS-6195 Mother Board in a system, it die'd for some reason. Being that the board is old, is being hard to find a replacement, but I might as well up date it anyway, what would be a good board to upgrade to? Here's what I have to go along with the board.
AMD anthon CPU 650 Slot A, 168 Dimm (128 meg) (Going to up that to 512 meg), Sound Blaster Live, 56K Modem, Creative Lab CT6870 AGP Video, ATX Case.
Also is there a differance between Socket A & Slot A?
Thanks for your Help!
Computers are like life, constantly changing, and without change we would become STAGNET

If you would like to replace the Mobo with the another MSI, you might want to check out this location: www.pcclub.com. They carry the MSI mobos at a reasonable price starting as low as $79.95.
Good luck.

Slot A are older K7 boards in which the processor wa "Standing" (very much like PCI Cards...).
Socket A are Newer K7 (which known has Tbirds). The processor is Flat (Somewhat like a single Chip).
Check if the CPU is SLOT or SOCKET B4 buying new MB.
Good Luck
