I told him repeatedly to get a Micron, or to build his own (obviously the first suggestion) but my friend just bought a Compaq Presario 1800. It's got some good specs, but I am just kinda worried that he bought a POS system. I know that Compaqs are usually nightmare systems, but i did hear something that they were improving.

is this true for the 8000 series (in the white case)?
