Outlook file sharing?
One of my clients would like to use Outlook 2000 on a network, so they can share a common appointment diary and contact list.
As far as I know, you can't have two users on a network sharing one .PST file. Is there another way of achieving this??

It depends where he is collecting the mail from as far as I know. If he is collecting mail from an MS exchange then he can set up a public folder, then set up rights so that only who he wants can access it.

I havent set this up yet, but it is possible. In the next couple of weeks I will need to be sharing my outlook task list with my fellow techs. On outlook 2000, you just go to File -> Share -> then select what you want to share. (on mine you can select tasks, calander, and contacts) Next you will be asked who you want to share with, outlook will then send an invite to the users you want to share with. you can also set what kind of privledges everyone has(whether or not they can make changes to your calander).
I hope this helps.

This works fine and is a piece of cake to set up.

right click on the item - and select properties, then permissions tab.
add who you want to be able to access the file, and then go to the other persons machine.
file-open-other persons folder, enter the data - and your done.
now whenever they want to open the others calender, they go to file-open, and there it is (it keeps it in the list just like word keeps the recently opened docs)
