6 gb in total downloaded over a 56k dialup. (over 2 years or so)

    1.2 is MP3's.
800mb is Vids (funny clips etc)
    900mb images / wavs' etc
2.5 gb software, demos, cheats, hacks, patches, etc
500mb of utils, and a few ghost images (I know, not downloaded, but that's where the space has gone..!)

I always download at work, dump onto x drive, and then download at home, saves wasting time browsing for what your after..

Got it!....There is a dude I know that works at and ISP who has a couple of 40GB Seagate Cuda's filled to the brim, all with MP3's.

He could make your download collection look like Monopoly money!

Not a bad effort at all!

I have kept almost EVERYTHING i have ever downloaded or created on my PC since my first 286 I have had one HDD crash and lost everything but since then I have accumulated about 80 gigs of stuff. I don't want to burn stuff to CDR because it's much much easier to visit the archive HDD than to hunt through piles of CDs looking for Winzip 8. When I run out of ro0m I buy another HDD. I have everything backed up on CDR though because I'd be pretty homicidal if I lost it all.

Oh yeah and that's all through a 56k connection, on a shared household phone line! No wonder I have no friends!! No actually that's why I got myself a mobile. The rest of my family have no friends or life... Oooohahahahahahaaaa!

    Cool

Those are some pretty big numbers. Mine probably seems insignificant. But, I think filling 40gigs in one month is bad. Worst part is I don't even know what I dl'ed [other than in general.]

Going from 56k to DSL didn't help. After DSL the hard drivs fill up like an unatended litter box...

    About

86 cdr's of nice quality anime *guess that makes me an anime otaku!*
    51 cdr's of movies (err...nevermind)
    13 cdr's of mp3's
    150 cdr's of "evaluation programs"

Yes I know I should feel bad, but I just can't bring myself to stop DL'ing everything!

    Well... lessee...

7 PCs at an average 16 GB per PC, = 112 GB

    Plus, 450 or so CD-Rs and CD-RWs (650 MB x 450 = 292 GB or so)

    So, 112 GB + 292 GB = 404 GB or so

I do have cable service, and often download full ISO images of Linux, etc. I also have 5 older PCs (not included in above listings) that I use to play older DOS games that won't work right under Win 9x, and they are also for hacking around, testing, playing MP3's, whatever. I am also going to build a P-200 MMX machine with an old Pack Bell desktop case that I got for free to play MP3's, and control a mobile entertainment system for my conversion van (TV, VCR, DVD, stereo, etc. Maybe play a few games with it when parked, too... thinking about doing a wireless dial-up thing via cell phone for Internet usage as well, but unsure how to implement that).

Damn, I just realised... I really have too many computers! No wonder I don't have any room in this house! :-)

    LOL
