ASUS P5A and Pentium Overdrive
I have ordered 2 P5As from TCcomputers and neither has worked, the first board I believed to be bad and had it replaced shortly after I had received it. However, I am having the same issue. The board is not in a case, I have a 16mb pci monster fusion, 32mb sdram and Intel 200MMX Overdrive, and an ATX power supply, all on a antistatic mat in my shop. I tested all of these components on a different (Intel chipset) ATX board and all works well. Two bad boards in a row?

Perhaps the board is set for MMX, and you are using MMX Overdrive? I think the board's voltage setting would have to be set for non-MMX, and perhaps you have it set for MMX? That is, 2.8 volt core CPU voltage as opposed to 3.4(?) volt core CPU voltage? Hmmm... Try that... Good luck, WU

set it for P54c ( non-MMX ) & 3.5v single voltage. Should then work fine

I agree, just set the board up as if it were the chip you are replacing
