Removing FAT32

Once you upgrade to WIN98 and convert to FAT32, can you remove WIN98 without consequence? I know that when you go to uninstall, M$ tells you that you should not uninstall 98 if you have converted to FAT32, but I also know that sometimes things that are said are always true. Any of you had any experience with this?

why uninstall 98?

fat32, once done, will work with any 9x OS, except 950 (upgrade) and 95a (upgrade w/patch)
95B, 95C, 98, 98a, 98SE, ME, Win2k (all variants) will work with fat 32.

the only reason MS recommends this is because the older versions of windows (which many used until 98SE) couldnt handle fat32.
they would look at the patition as invalid, and puke.

i think even linux can run with fat32 (what cant it run with...)

you can uninstall the win 98. Then format your hard drive using the western digital disk and select Fat16 and reinstall win98 even though it may say fat32 install it won't mean anything becuase your partion will be set at fat16

To answer your question exactly,

Yes you can remove windows 98 on a fart32 (oops i mean fat) partition as long as you dont go to a real old operating system, if u want to change back down to fat16, u don't need to re-fdisk etc, download partition magic 6 from pqmagic.com and use that!

Just as a question? Why would you remove 98se? Other then 2K, its the best version of Windows that MS has released yet. Don't get me started on that piece of crap Win ME.
