Question Desperate for help with KG7-Raid

    Well, here goes...
I have a problem with my computer "glitching" when running media player or dxdiag. Those are the two things that I have really been able to notice it in. I know glitching is a very vauge word. In media player, while playing an mp3, it will skip every now and then. In dxdiag, the d3d test(with the spinning cube) will stop and restart spinning for a milisecond. My proc is showing about 5% use. I do *THINK* that I hear my HD access just for that split second but I'm not sure. I am running the two maxtor 20G HDs in raid 0 with the default WinXP drivers. I have formated and re-installed xp about 6 times now. The last time, I installed it with just the video and ram. I pulled my network card and sound card so I know those aren't the problem. I have tried the via 4in1 drivers(4.35) and it didn't help. I also have a maxtor 13G HD as master on my secondary IDE(UDMA33) with a ricoh 4*4*32(7040A) as the slave. My primary IDE just has a creative 52X cd set as master. It has this problem with the bios setings set to both safe and optimazed settings, with the proc overclocked or stock, and with the ram set to auto or turbo.

I am at my wits end. I am willing to try just about anything at this point.

Thanks for taking the time to read this novell.
Note: To correct display problems, hold the "ALT"key and press"F4".

What video driver are you using? I know that the nVidia reference drivers have caused that kind of problem with TNT2 and GeForce cards. Manufacturer drivers don't always fix it but give it a shot.
Check out the standalone mobo chipset drivers from <a href="http://www.viaarena.com/?PageID=2" target="_blank">here</a> as well.
Maybe the next BIOS revision will fix it if those don't.
If it's a Windows XP issue you could always go dual boot win98/XP.

I had some similar problems with a KT7a. First, go to <a href="http://www.viahardware.com/faq/kg7kr7/kg7kr7faq.htm" target="_blank">this</a> link for a FAQ about the KG7 family. Then go <a href="http://www.viahardware.com/faq/kg7kr7/downloads.htm" target="_blank">here</a> and get the latest 4-in-1 drivers, the recommended highpoint drivers, and anythign else suggested in the FAQ.

Got it fixed! It was a corupt inf file associated with the high-point 370 drivers for my raid. It was making th disks spin down and then back up. I DL the new driver and then installed it and every thing works great.
    Thanks for the help!
