Proxy Server
We just had a T1 line installed, it is running through a cisco 2600 router, when we hook a laptop directly to the router we get 1.4mps, when it is running through the proxy server it drops to modem speeds, anybody have a clue to what could be causing the bottle neck ? Thanks in advance

make sure that your t1 isnt a segregated one - (x channels @ y speed = 1.4MB/sec) and your only getting one or two channels.
also - make sure you have the caching on with the proxy software.
make sure the laptop is going through the proxy also.
also of note - in the internet exploder control panel, instead of the machine name - type the IP address in...
i had some probs with name resolution and people werent able to find the proxy server

Well I found the problem, bad TCP/IP entries in the registry, so I deleted the keys and reinstalled network settings and bingo she works like a raped ape
