MSI K7T266 Pro2 or Epox 8kha+
Recommending a motherboard for a friend, both of these boards are about $105 so price is not a deciding factor.
Both do not have RAID, only difference spec-wise is that the Epox has an extra PCI slot.
Can someone please comment on which of these boards is less likely to give problems, the Epox or the MSI?

As I have a big box of MSI boards to RMA, I would go with the Epox. I have not had to RMA one Epox so far, plus I have had one in my gamer for about 8 months without a problem as well as in lots of customer machines.

I build a few boxes a year, used to do dozens 'til I changed jobs. I found Epox with their MVP3 series for the K6-2. I now try to use epox exclusively, but it isnt always possible, due to availability, customer requirements...etc. Their RMA rate for me has been as good as any, less than 2 per 100. Their bioses are usually the most tweakable ones around, and their newsgroup support is excellent. Even the website is clean and organized. The quality and performane won me and the little extras like the newsgroup and website keep me comin back. I like other companies too ASUS has done well, and Intel mobos are no brainers. I don't mean to sound like a schill for epox, just trying to relay the confidence i have in their products.
