    Cool USB Woes

I have an Asus A7V mobo thats giving me grief. The onboard USB ports work perfectly, but I'm having a hard time getting the add on ports to see and load devices with any kind of reliablity. When I say add on ports, I mean the ports that are connected by a cable to the mother board. I have tried numerous ports and cables, checked the bios settings and the IRQ's. Everything looks fine and dandy.

I'm going bald here from yanking at my hair. Anyone have any additional ideas or know of any known issues?? Thanks

Haven't used this board but in the past I've had some trouble with ASUS boards not having enough power--adding a powered hub usually solved the problem.

WildTech, I have the same problem with my A7V boards expansion USB ports. I called Asus and they weren't much help, but they had me plug my Intellemouse Trackball into one of the ports I was having problems with and it worked fine, yet my scanner or camera do not. They offered no solution but commented that for some reason the problem devices may have conflicts with the ports. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I had issues as well. I put the device on one of the primary USB connections and installed the drivers. Then I could put that same devise on any of the USB connections. I have not had any issues since then.

    Cool

Hmmmmmmmm, sounds very familiar guys. Thanks for the replys. I gotta say that I'm a little disappointed with ASUS. I am willing to pay more for their products simply because I normally have no problems. Kinda defeats the purpose.
