    Angry Comctl32.dll

Okay here is a nasty one I got this one twice in one day. Win98 boots to desktop with mouse function and the Network password dialog box. As a bonus you also get Error Comctl32.dll cannot start. When you close the error box it goes to error 2. Mprexe.exe cause invalid page fault kernel32 and no more. Only thing I could find from MS points to corrupt Password list file so I deleted it but no improvement had to reinstall but had to delete win directory first. Tried extracting new files no good.

Somebody throw this dog a bone before I have to tackle the second unit.

I would start up in safe mode and use a process of elimination on the startup items using the msconfig applet in the system information utility (can you tell I work on Macs too?). Chances are there is a corrupt or conflicting startup item associated with a non-MS application that is not playing well w/others. Once you locate it, un & re-install the offending app. If that doesn't work, blow the machine up. It'll definitely stop doing it then. My friends say I'm showing signs of burn-out. What do you think?

    But seriously, good luck.

Like I said its a nasty one. It won't even go into safe mode. So far its the famous format c: /s solution.
