New Messanger Problem, Kill IT
Ok, I need some insight on this one, when I first got XP Pro I found how to uninstall the messanger service via editing the sysoc.inf file, I didnt want and still dont want it, well stupid me downloaded a critical update yesterday from microsoft, and guess whats back, only now there is no place to uninstall it, I can keep it from coming up only when I open Outlook Express but I dont want it at all, anybody know where I can kill this thing, I know all about the group policy editor and disabling it there, but when I do that, Outlook takes like a full minute to open for some reason, so that wont work, I just want to remove it from my computer completely , I dont use it and never will. It also wont let me close it when outlook is open its somehow integrated itself with it, I know there has to be a reg hack or something to get rid of this darn thing. TIA

Do a search of the forum, the registry solution has been posted several, several times. Once you remove the registry entry, you could also always remove the Messenger folder from your harddrive.
