connect2party, desire, personal_party... what is all this porno crap and what does it
So this guy brings in a machine with some browser issues and whatnot. I notice the guys' history is exclusively porn... His browser is not holding settings (keeps checkboxing the use proxy setting, which must be disabled manually every time you launch the browser) blah blah blah...
ANYHOO, he has these apps which I'm guessing were inadvertently or surreptitiously installed on his machine: "desire", "connect2party", etc etc... Have any of you seen this crap before? Wat is the nature and payload of these chumpy programs? Could these be related to the browser problems?
BTW I was able to fix the browser probs by deleting the homepage entry in the registry...

Stanley, check his Dial-up Networking connections! These are dialer programs that connect the computer to an expen$ive international number. I had to clear a computer of these things recently and then the guy got his phone bill!!! Needless to say he now has an international block on his phone.
Hope this helps,
Reg

These things are EVIL! If you do surf the pr0n, you will more than likely pick one of these things up somewhere along the line. I had a guy get a phone bill for $300 because he browsed their site using one of those dial ups. Make sure that you check the start up too because they get put in there and the unwary user just clicks "OK" and then they connect to Kerplakistan at like $9 a min.
