    Post configurable password auditing software?

I have been handed a laptop with win2k installed. The owner has forgotten the default administrator password but has given me a selection of components that he thinks they may be composed from. (one of 3 words all lower case or capitalised first letter and one of 6 numeric sequences). The userr isn't sure about ANY of the information he's given me.

I've got l0phtcrack, but it says the search will take 400 odd hours (on a 600MHz celeron with 128Meg RAM). Is there any way for me to specify the search parameters to reduce my search space?

Well, I have worked out how to limit the brute force search.
L0phtcrack saves the iteration file (as lc0 extension file or something like it). If you go into that file, you can change the character set being used for the brute force attack. In my case, I reduced the character set by about half by eliminating the characters + numbers that I know aren't in the password. It's going to take about an hour to crack now. Which is probably the same amount of time as it would take to key in the hundred or so combinations.
