Post DVD MPEG II decoding issues

Is it necessary to use a DVD decoder card with a system running a PIII 700 processor and 768MB ram? Does the software adequately perform the decoding and will there be any frame droppage with the above system while watching a DVD movie?

It all depends on what Video Card you have .

no you don't HAVE to use a dvd decoder but even with a good video card sometimes it is better to have one in. Try different software packages first as they all have different levels of quality. If that doesn't work try the hard card. <IMG SRC="smilies/rolleyes.gif" border="0">
