Anyone have lots of experience with 1394? I need a firewire card in a jiffy, recommendations?

Er, sorry.
My only experience with 1394 has been

Some random, no-name PCI card a user bought on his own and dropped into his Dell.

Apple G4's
Both worked quite well, but that doesn't exactly answer your question, does it? Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Well, so far, the Siig 1394 card seems to be pretty decent. I haven't compared it to anyone elses, but it hasn't given me any trouble yet.

Thanks for the help, I have ordered and it should be here by now (shouldve been here at 10am est). I got a Koutech 582B. 3 external and one shared ext/int. It has all the functionality that the $200+ cards have, it seems. Wish me luck!

You should be able to find just about any 3-port firewire card/kit for under $50. $200? now that's a rip off.
