    Exclamation Partitoning My HDD And Installing Mandrake 8.1

    Hi all (This is my 300th post )

    All I need is some advice on how to partition my hard disk and then installing linux on the new partition (D:\)

    If you have Partition Magic, use that. It will format the partition for a Linux install. Once done boot to your CD-Rom and install Linux.

    I havent tried 8.1 yet, but 8.0 would set it up automatically, if you selected to keep the Windows partition. Just boot using the cd. It would ask how much space you wanted for the root and such, the rest was automated. (If you choose that route)

    I'm typing this reply in my new Mandrake 8.1 installation

    I need Opera...and fast

    Quite pleased about it detecting my Internet automatically though
