HP scanner scan quality using ADF
Hi,
We have an HP scanner 6200 C with an ADF. Why is it that the quality of the color documents is so bad when going through the ADF compared to right off the bed? Is this just the way it is?
I have tried making sure the scanner was warmed up, cleaned the ADF windows, even replaced the ADF. The quality is still bad. The same document when scanned on the bed is so much better. I take the defaults from the scanning software when doing both tasks so the quality output is the same.
Any ideas?

I think you're on the right track identifying the ADF as the problem. However also consider that the connection btween the scanner and ADF may be bad. Try a whole new scanner (if you can) and see if the problem persists. Have a look around HP's support page for the 6200c and see if you can find anything.

Ive noticed the same thing with my 4C. I think it has to do with the roller that moves the paper through. Its not as thick as the backing of the normal cover and also it doesn't put as much downward force as the lid does. I've yet to find a way around it.If you do, let me know please....
