What is Intel doing?
So now there is the flip chip. As techs how do you explain to the customer what they want or what they need? Which is the true direction of the intel cpu? I have read lots of reviews and reports but I am so confused with the flip flop Intel has done I do not know what to recommend. After years of Packard Bell and Compaq's most customers now know they need to look for "true" upgradeability. How am I supposed to tell them anything if Intel can't?
Yes, I am kind of venting but I am also curious.
Thanks for listening!

Hi.
Don't be so confused. You aren't supposed to "guess" what they really gonna do! Even if you're a tech, a tech manager, or a store owner.
You know, technology has become a "stock exchange market" nowadays. Noone can make a guess and noone can predict the future.
See it that way:
Intel was the first processor maker, until last summer. Then AMD just got better.
Do you believe Intel is gonna close their 15 CPU factories and let AMD's 2 ones take over?
I don't think so. Of course I'm not on Intel's side. I do this job for 5 years and I've been confused like you for more than 7 years. I just like quality and stability. I'd like to have a car made by Mercedes than any other else (even if it was "faster" than mine). I know some guys will disagree, but that's my pure opinion.
Surely I don't like that confusion, but that's the way it is. That's our job and we have to continue in spite of these troubles.
Tell your customers your true opinion, judging from your experience, and let Intel do all the others. Your customers will be satisfied and you'll be no more confused!
Happy New Year....
