Is there any reason I shouldn't disable ACPI?
Here and there, I've seen suggestions to disable ACPI in BIOS (which for Win2k would require a complete tabula rasa) as it could help free up system resources (besides which, there's still plenty of devices out there that are not ACPI-compliant).
Really, I don't need it. I generally turn off power saving features and don't let my computers go to sleep. Is there any reason I shouldn't disable ACPI the next time I reinstall? Are there reasons I should?

For certain motherboards using the VIA chipset and certain Sound Cards, disbaling the ACPI will help. I have it disbales on my WinME machine. I see no real differance than when it was installed.

Did the same thing to my machine. Everything was on IRQ 9, now everything has it's own IRQ. Only downside is that you have to turn of your computer.

Eh, that's just IRQ steering. No biggie.
I'm more worried about any possible changes in stability, etc. For instance, does ACPI turn smaller things (e.g. a modem when not used) off even if the computer isn't technically asleep? If this is the case, am I going to see an increase in heat on my AMD-based system?
