I know cdrwin has a DOS component that works under DOS. www.goldenhawk.com
The demo only works at 1x, but it still works...

have used cdrwin / dos (16bit) in the past -for a bet? 1meg memory 386 machine ... it is a bit finicky , i think it only works with scsi...(i usewd a plextor reader and a yamaha writer)dont quote me on scsi only but summot sticks in the back of my mind (its about 12mths ago)
i got it to work from a win98 boot disk and a scsi card (with a floppy- with the prog on) i had to write a small *.bat file because the sintax was a ball ack ie "diskcopy (or whatever the prog name was) "scsi id -"id one" (reader) -"id two (writer).
the prog is a free download from "goldenhawk" and is a suite of about 6 utils.
NOTE. the cd copy prog is only capable of data tracks (one track) not music CDs ie multiple tracks.
worth a look at if u have time ?
best of luck
