Acer 310P Scanner Problem
I sent an e-mail to Acer tech support a couple of weeks ago...I haven't heard anything back from them yet...
A customer of ours has an Acer 310P scanner. They moved it from point A to point B, and reconnected it to the system. After they did that, however, they cannot select the scanner from the scanning software. They're running Win 98, and the scanner shows up under device manager. However, when they go to "Select Source" from any imaging software (ULead photoplus, Paintshop Pro, and even MS Imaging) no devices are listed.
I tried uninstalling the scanner, and reinstalling. No help. I tried deleting the TWAIN directory, and rebuilding it. No help. Any ideas?

Oh, yeah! The customer brought the scanner in to the store for us to test on a machine...the scanner runs great...

That does sound like a TWAIN problem. Does the scanning application that came with the scanner work?

Yeah, the program runs fine...but, like I said, it doesn't allow for "select source". There actually isn't a way to load the MiraScan software directly, that I'm aware of (where you can preview the scan).

I've had a few problems with these and other Acer scanners. What version of MiraScan are you running? I think the latest is 3.41 available for download from Acer's website. Try installing the latest version.
