That thing again.....
I know this has probably been posted before but I have never seen an answer or work around for it posted.
When you load some older programs they go through a CDROM test upon startup. On older drives and or PCs this was no issue, but any time you try to install on a newer PC (anything 450MHz and up in this case) you get that dreaded "INTEGER DIVIDE BY 0" coming up in your face.
Im reasonably sure that this is caused by the CDs specs not being able to reccognize the speed of the newer CDROM, but is there a way to defeat that problem so you can actually get the program to work?

I've usually encountered this error when the program/test 'ut is overwhelmed by the power of the CPU *My Wing Commander games come to mind*. I can't really tell you there is a good was around this, besides the usual, disable your CPU's Onboard L2 cache, or force your HD into DOS compatibility for the proggy install then correct settings and hope the program will run. I really haven't seen any software that will "force" a lower read speed for a CD-Rom drive, (YMMV).
I haven't personally played with this idea, but a virtual-CD proggy MAY allow you to define access speeds to the data on the virtual drive, dunno...

Maybe setting the access mode on the cd-rom to pio 1,2 or three. Or maybe a cd-rom emulator program would work if there was a way to specify access speed?

depending on your OS you can do a lot of things to help this out.
most dos games have the option to make a game boot disk.. us it, as this foces the system into dos compatibility mode. (this works good for all lucas arts games... amazing what tie firghter looks like on a new system when you can get it to start)
dont disable your level 2 cache as yout machine will slow to pre 386 speeds ( im serious tying to boot a systme wiht win2k and no cach takes 1/2 hour to get to the desk top).
you may want to look into setting up some sort of compatibility mode (win XP) involving setiing the stacks and buffers (good old dos stuff that will likley help your game)
