My New System
Well, I think it's time to replace the old AMD K6/2 500 running on a Tekram P5MVP-B4.
I'm after any comments/suggestions on my proposed new system, with the following specs:
ASUS A7V-E mainboard
AMD Athlon 1GHz
256MB PC133 SDRAM
Philips 24x CD-ROM
Acer 8x4x32 CD-R
GeForce MX2 Video
I still need to decide on a case. I believe the Athlon CPUs are pretty power hungry, and I want to leave room for adding an extra HDD or 2 in the future. Will a 250W be ok, or should I go for a 300W?
Also, since I haven't used this configuration before, are there any known issues with the GeForce MX2 and VIA KT133 mainboard chipset?

You should definitely be looking at an AMD certified 300WATT PS for that new case.

Why bother using power to drive that old 24X CD-ROM???????.......Your burner reads at 32X!

This isn't anywhere near as sweet looking as the clearview cases but CompuPlus has a great AMD case with a 300 watt PS and case fan. I've used this case several times and while heavy when loaded it has lots of room for growth.
Have fun!
