    Post Where'd it go?

I had a user accidently delete something from a shared network drive. Is it gone forever, or did it go to a recycle bin? I already checked the locel computer (the one the person deleted the items from), and they weren't in there. I'm going to check the server's recycle bin now. If they aren't there, is there anywhere else I could check?

IF it's a netowk drive, your SOL. You may want to look into backups though.

I was afraid of that. I sure am glad I backed it up Friday though. Thanks.

YEP (on NT Based Servers) - But if it is a NOVEL Server the files are still there... And you can restore them easily.
If it is Novell please post and I will instruct you.

P.S. This is no mean that I Like Novell Servers... I really hate them...

    Good Luck,
    Gabriel

My bad, I thought you were insinuating that when someone wished you good luck that they jinxed you and now you couldn't retrieve the backup.

Oh... I haven't tried the back-up yet. The files that I'm going to retrieve aren't THAT needed. As soon as I'm not busy I'm going to try it.

I hear ya, dude! Our company is finally kissing Novell goodbye after 8+ years of security holes, OS bugs and general grief. Switching from Novell to hybrid NT/2000 platform.
