my friend has a problem...
I have a friend who is having a problem with AIM. Trillian does the same thing. actually, the only difference between the two is that sometimes AIM works, and trillian doesn't anymore.
starting yesterday, whenever she tries to log on to AIM (using either) she gets this message:
*** Error logging into AIM: You are attempting to sign on again too soon.
*** See <a href="http://www.aol.com" target="_blank">http://www.aol.com</a> for more information.
I can't seem to find anything that matches this on their website. interresting tidbit though, she can log in using anyone elses computer just fine...
now I did see the topic on AIM's website related to having limited loggins within a specified period on a given copmuter, but that doesn't seem to apply here. she first started having this problem WITHOUT previousely being logged in (recently logged in, that is)
I don't know if this makes any difference, but she is in school logging in through the campus network. her roomates computer logs into her(my friends) acount fine. also, she is running windows Me.
One other thing. just recently it's become intermittent on AIM messenger, where sometimes it works, while ther times it doesn't. but it never works on trillian. (she always tries that first)
Any help is greatly appreciated. she is in D.C. while I in michigan, so I can't exactly see her computer right now or I'd give you more info. Thanks in advance.

AIM is now blocking Trillian attempts. I'm guessing that since trillian is XML based it can't fully block them so AOHELL has set trillian login attempts to raise one's 'warning level' to 100%, thereby refusing logon. If you try then to connect thru AIM, you have to wait to get back on til your warning level goes down. I have not confirmed this, but it's the only way i can think that would cause this,as it's happening to many users i know....... If anyone out ther knows whats going on, We'd appreciate you sharing......
