Compaq usually get propriety boards made for them by other manufacturers, now this is okay with barebones boards, you can use sisoft or similar to try to diagnose the underlying chipset, but not always(some integrated sound/video chipsets give screwy results).
With integrated boards the plot thickens, as they just seem to use any old sh*t in all sorts of combinations. Compaq support stinks for end users and is only geared up for 'fleet' business. So if you have 2000 machines with some driver error they fix it, if you only have one they expect your dealer to support it.
Ever played spot the model on the compaq site??
I guess Jungleboy is in for a long game. They don't even know what they 'produce' so how the hell are we supposed to know.
