I do have to say - I think that your estimate is extremely low - I think that between 15 and 25% of the posters are more than just posers, but people who when speaking I would listen to, and 75% of the returning posters are techs, if not higher.
It is very difficult to tell, as there are many, many one time callers who register, ask a question or two and never come back that throw the numbers off, however you do get to recognise the same "efaces" after a while and most of our retun posters are techs.

The true test of inteligence is not in how much you know, but if you know enough to know where and how to find the answer.....And for that you need not be a "Tech or a Cert"
You can even drink MGD and go fishing now and then. OK so now you have my profile!!

There's a search function????
Gotta go look for that!

Even that I find that the most visited posts are in "Tech Tales" and "Tech Lounge" where the inventoried guys tell tales about former life... - This forum is one of my favorite and the quality and responsetime to postings is awful quick.
In my case I have 1/20 ratio of Q/A and I try to keep it up by reviewing topics where I feel comfortable with...
This is a great site with great folks!

Everyone, no matter how good he/she is, how much experience, certifications, professionalism etc... they have might sometime be in a position they need help, need a fresh point of view or advise.
second, even the most "newbie", unknown, amature tech might sometimes give you an advise or an idea that will help more than you could ever imagine.
learn what you can, don't flame, help if you can.
so Bottom line ? KEEP AN OPEN MIND
Who said he knows everything???

Does it really matter who is and who is nat a tech?? the reason I haven't been around here much lately is the cocky, self-rightious attitudes of a lot of the people here. Most of the people who start topics like this are just suffering from dillusions of grandeur. So get a haircut and get a real job and keep your high and mightyness to yourself no one else cares
