IE 5.0 giving illegal errors and closing down
Help guys. I have a machine running Win98se with IE 5.0. It connects to the net fine but when I try to move from one site to another it bombs out with an illegal function error and spontaneous blue screens. Often the browser simply closes. The BSOD are screwy codes I've never seen before and can't find info on. I have reloaded the op system and the browser with no luck. I even tried the System.INI "Display Fix" with no luck. Any Ideas?? Thanks

I figured it out..... Believe it or not, it was the processor. Everything else worked fine except for IE 5.0. Go figure. Took the processor out, replaced it and problems went away. Put the "bad" processor in another "working" machine and boom!! Same problem with IE 5.0. I know, its weird, but thats what it turned out to be!!
Thanks WildTech

You know that gives me an idea on one of my problems. I've had a customer with a problem kind of like that, the processor is about the only thing I haven't replaced. Thanks for helping. lol
