Silent Computer Case.
Has anyone noticed lately how loud computer have become ?
I decided I want to replace my case and heard that there are "quiet" cases.
anyone with advise ?
Conditions for recommendations :
1. a 300W PSU (AMD approved)
2. At least one more Fan (other than the PSU fan)
3. good cooling
4. Mid-ATX size
5. Easy to setup/maintain.
6. at least 3x5.25" bays and 4x3.5" bays.
And it MUST be SILENT...
Thanks

thanks, but I'm not sure about two things :
1. I'm not quite ready to put water in my PC..
2. $230 for a case ? I think not !!!

Aopen cases are pretty nice. They make some really sturdy housings, and I would recommend them before anything else. I couldnt get a link at the moment (page looks to be down) but they are definately work checking out.

I bought my case from Future Shop and it is very quiet. I have got the orginal power supply and I added another fan. Future Shop only sells one case.

I`ve got nothing but good things to say about AOpen cases, we use them all the time. It`s never occured to me that they`re real quiet, but they`re not particularly loud either.

I've found that the SuperMicro cases are pretty quite. Even the ones with 9 fans in them are quiter than my home system.
I've also noticed that the fans used seem to have more to do with noise than anything else. A large, slow fan makes less noise than a fast, small one, and can even have the same CFM.

Thanks for the help everyone..
AOpen cases are nice only problems:
I need a Mid-Tower ATx Case (it can't be taller..)
Aopen Mid-Tower ATX case is only 6 bays.
they also have only 250W PSU (and replacing the PSU in a new case is stupid...)
and I know I forgot to mention this - but the PSU must be approved for Athlon 1.3 GHz - So far Aopen are not...
SuperMicro cases have the same problems:
The Mid-Tower Cases have low power PSU (not AMD approved for 1.3Ghz)
although they do meet the required amount of Drive bays.
Anymore ideas ?

Check out www.superpower.com. I've been using their cases for a while now and they've been very nice.

What you say, Condor? I can't hear you over my EXTREMELY LOUD COMPUTER! Wish I could get a quiter case!
Seriously, as someone stated above, the Aopen cases do tone the noise down a good bit. But then again, I leave my computer naked with the sides off, so I lose whatever noise reduction it does have.

I have an Aopen Hx-45 mid tower case rated 250 watts . With a T-bird 1000/Voodoo5/256 megs/lan card/Panasonic cdr-w and Panasonic reader . It's rock solid , and stable .
I prefer a 250w case from Aopen than a generic 300w case.
And for the noise level , i would say it's moderate .
