[RESOLVED] computer won't boot with cd rom attached

Does anyone have any idea what would cause a computer to suddenly stop booting when the cd rom is attached. I have tried every configuration. Tried new cables and tried test cd rom all with the same results. If you detach cd rom computer boots fine, with cd attached it hangs on post right after found cd rom. Any help I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Try it on a separate cable if you are slaving it off your HD now.

Thanks, I already tried that. Also ran diagnostic test on board and everything is ok. But still will not boot.

Am I to understand that you've already tried a different CDROM? Can you try the HD and CD together in a different system? Or a different HD in the current system?
