Post Looking for a good SLOT 1 MB

I have 2 ASUS P3BF boards currently that are running a P3-500 and a P3-850. I am wanting to upgrade the kids P2-300 slot 1 which is now running on a Super Micro older LX with a BX board and the P3BF boards are nearly impossible to find now. So I'm wanting suggestions on either a cheaper board for the kids or another quality board for myself.

I don't know Slot1 motherboard better than ASUS P3BF. May be, ABIT BE6-II,but that board isn't cheap also. <IMG SRC="smilies/wink.gif" border="0"> So, I would suggest to upgrade Your own computer instead.
And,once again,ASUS or ABIT board with AMD TB 1GGz+ would be nice choice.

Slot 1 boards with a bx chipset are very hard to find new now since Intel stopped manufacturing the bx chipset almost 1/2 a year ago.
The only slot 1/socket370 combo board that I know is still for sale brand new at some locations is the Tyan Trinity 400. But it uses a via chipset.
Ebay has a lot of postings of bx boards for sale.
As Ruslan mentioned there, maybe you might want to invest in a duron/tbird upgrade instead. But you will need an amd approved p.s. to run those. Plus many motherboards do not have any ISA slots on them. You'll need to upgrade to a PCI slot if you have any devices attached to an isa slot.
For me, I was lucky. 2 months I found a p3bf board from a store that was clearing out old stock at reduced prices. I'm enjoying my board running in my system right now as I type this post. You might be lucky if some place has older stock still kicking around where you live.

I have to add to the vote o' confidence given by the other folks here, I think you already have one of the best in the P3B-F. It was one of our top boards for almost half a year in terms of sales and I almost never had quality issues with it. I'd prefer to find a used one on Ebay almost over buying something else.
