Post weird.....

Well i got a nice new antec "dragon" case ( 1030b )

I switched all of my components to the new case ( care-fully ) making sure to touch the PS every once and a while too.

here's the problem I can't get a video signal from the MOFO now.

I was careful to put alot of standoffs and made sure the motherboard was suspended in the case.

I'm thinking the AGP contacts may be mis-alligned or something because the fan on my geforce 2 ultra still turns on.

I tried the ol' pencil erasor trick on the contacts on the graphics board but.. no luck.

I have also tried 2 other agp cards as well.

This is an ABIT VP6 running (2) pentium III 1ghz procs running under win2kpro by the way.

any suggestions are apreciated , thank you.

Yeah, it sounds like your power supply may not be giving you enough power. The Antec 1030B case comes with a 300w psu and the system you have requires the Antec 400w psu. Looks like a nice case but the power supply just may not have enough juice going to the +/-3v and +/-5v rails. I'd try another power supply before I RMA'd the ABIT, just to make sure, remove a processor, try running only one processor and see what happens. Good luck.

Before you purchase a new PSU or assume the AGP slot is damaged, try reseating the processors. Ususlly if you get no POST at all on Intel platform it's a bad or poorly seated processor.

pull everything out except memory.

No beeps
Check power supply and easier to check for grounding problem with everything out. Power supply good, Pull out memory, still no beeps, check processor. Processor good, check motherboard.

With beeps
Add video card (only) see if boots. If Boots? Start adding cards one by one to see which one is the corporate.

Good luck.

Also check your ribbon cables. I ahd the same problem a couple of weeks ago with the same board. Thought I had toasted the guys system but it turned out to be a reversed ribbon. Also if you have a PCI video card around, try it.
