    Post What is this for???

msnp32.dll is refered to in the system.ini but it is not anywhere on the HD and the system can't boot.

Does anyone know what this file is for?

If we'd do a guessing-game I'd bet against you - even though I have no clue... but 'ms' always stands for MicroSoft, and why shouldn't there be something harmless like Network behind...

I would guess MicroSoftNetworkProtocol-for-32bit.DLL... do I get the pot?

File should be in windows\system file and properties show "Network provider for Microsoft networks"so itlooks like its a windows file and should be on your OS CD.
Did you install/remove any of your network files lately?

There is also an updated msnp32.dll that is used to force strong passwords on an nt network. (when passfilt.dll is installed on the server)
