Mystery Windows......... (Scooby Doo Where are you)
Hrmm..
Mystery popup windows...
On booting up windows, b4 you enter into desktop And b4 the startup programs run..
2 empty windows popup with nothing in them except a ok button...
What could be the source of this?
So far this is what i did.
Cleansweep was deleted from registry.
Startup programs removed.
Registry Startup keys were removed.
Win.ini Load= was removed.
Ran Scandisk, Defrag, Win Dr...
No device conflicts and system runs perfect except those stupid little boxes n startup....
Any help would be appreciated..

Try ditching Norton Systemworks. That does weird stuff in the background, I think. (Or mess with its settings. Is it doing anything at startup?

Mark.

System Works is the first to go when I repair a system...we call it PC Kevorkian around here. Norton has given us more business than most things.

I totally agree.....the only thing I use that says Norton is the AntiVirus and its seem to do a good job.

let me guess its a compaq? if its a compaq its due to the orignal modem being removed, check the system.ini
its been a while since i had to do it, but if you email me the win.ini i can tell you where its it.
