I was installing an Abit ka7 with a Matrox G400 and I decide to update bios before installing Windows 98se. Flashed correctly to the latest version (bios posted 05/22/00, I thinK version kx, but I'm not sure).After I have installed windows (on the first screen that you can see, without installing nothing!!), system says that there is a memory conflict between Matrox and ACPI. I have tried a lot of different bios configurations (even fail-safe one), I have tried to remove and re-install ACPI and Matrox, I installed Via service pack 4.20, I have also changed two mobo and I have tried G400 16/32/32DH with no results. A yellow mark was always here waiting me. Finally, I tried an Ati Rage 128 Pro and all became wonderful. All works perfectly!
I decide to re-flash the bios of Abit to its old release, and now even Matrox seems working well!
Conclusion: someone has Abit ka7+Matrox+Latest bios and all perfectly working? Or it's only a bad bios release?
