DMA box checked with CD Burner ?
I just uninstalled an old 2x2x6 CD Burner and installed a new Acer 10x4x32 CD Burner, and seem to remember from the old burner documentation that I wasn't supposed to have the DMA box checked on the burner.
Is this info specific to the burner ?? And, has anyone found out that it makes a difference ??

Dma is faster and it requires less cpu power. Check dma, if your Acer doesn't support it, after reboot you'll find dma unchecked.

sradicator,
Did that. Checked the box, and it stayed checked. I do remember the other burner being unchecked after rebooting. Thanks.

I have two different computers that both use HP 9100i CD burners. Neither will work correctly unless DMA is checked.

That's strange - my burner seemed to work fine with the DMA box unchecked, and works fine with it checked.
Thanks for the replies...
