    Post Problems installing Win2k Server

Hey all, I am having trouble installing Win2k Server. Installing the dos part is fine, the problems happens after restarting and when it is detecting the keybord and mouse on the GUI install it restart the pc about half way through and keeps going in that cycle. This is a brand new install I am doing on a AMD duron 900 Mhz and the MB is a Legend Qdi KinetiZ 7B with 256 MB RAM and 20 GB HDD. I know the keyboard and the mouse isn't the problem because I have installed win2k server on another pc a few days ago with the same keyboard and mouse and the installation was smooth.

    Any ideas will be greatly appreciated <IMG SRC="smilies/confused.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/confused.gif" border="0">

Try it with the mouse unplugged and see it that changes anything. I understand they worked fine on another box, but are the motherboards and chipsets the same? If no, the mouse may have issues with this setup.

Also, there is a bios update from 5-2001. If you aren't current you might want to flash.

Go to microsoft's Knowledge Base. You can access the Search by mousing over Support (on any page) and selecting Knowledge Base.

For the Operating System (it calls the first box something else, but you'll see I'm talking about) select Windows 2000. Then, in the keywork box put this in
    kberrmsg kbsetup

You will then find everything you ever wanted to know about Windows2000 Setup errors. :-)
