Why are the mods closing topics so early?
Wanted to add a thank you to Shadowking for answering my question but the topic was closed. Seems like the mods are in a race to see who can close the most topics lately. Anyway this is still a great forum.

If I close a topic I finish it with a post to let anyone who cares know that I was the one who did it....

As of lately, I've been closing a whole lot of nothing. And if I do close something, I usually put notes at the bottom.

Cool, I was going to post about this but it looks like someone beat me too it. Yes, the MODs are very very busy. I was thinking that if you (MODs) could take just an extra second to tell the person that started the post or has his/her comment edited, etc. to PM them or just refer them to the section in the rules where they voliated the rules then I think that will solve a lot of fighting and in the long run save you guys from a lot of work in the future.

Bracius,
You bring up a good point, but if those members would have read the rules in the first place, then it wouldn't be necessary!

unfortunatly, it is all to common for people to scroll to the bottom of the agreement and click ok w/out reading any part of it. i have to admit, i am guilty of it as well.

I'm not posting to fan a fire but some good points were brought up....
Yes too many people will just zip down an agreement without reading.
Of course there are us old guys who didn't have any agreement when we signed up.
Yes the mods job is tough, and they are overworked.
It would be nice to give even a one word or short " this is closed because ,<fill in the blank >. You mods say you always say something at the bottom, maybe a little note is in order saying why.
I know that would add a little work but it might help.
The bottom line is though, let's be professional! All of us can use a reminder sometimes. And everyone has an off day too, mods included. Don't be thin skinned if it's closed it's probably for a good reason. If you don't know why ask politely and maybe someone will help.....
These are my opinions and mine alone. If I offended anyone I truly apologize. I can simpithize with both parties on this....

That tends to be standard practice for most mods. However, when Scott closes topics, he usually doesn't note on it. But he's the admin, and it's his decision.

Thanks Sheriff it was hard writing that post because I can see both sides and I hope I didn't step on too many toes either way.
