It was slow for me during my initial visit after the upgrade, but it seems fine now.
Danimal's cookie explanation is plausible.

MegaMod
It seems slower than ever today...takes several minutes just to load up one page. And, yes, I've cleared my cookies, etc.
It just makes it hard to try to help somebody. Most of us do these things during the day at our normal work site...these delays make that almost impossible. Have too many other things to do than wait around for a slow server to do it's thing.
Have to Refresh just about every page that loads up due to imcomplete icons, buttons, etc.
The changes may look nice but the system is slower than ever. I could understand getting rid of the stars, avatars, etc. to increase response times but I sure haven't seen it yet. But, I will try to remain patient and positive...maybe it will get better.
Just one man's opinion...and you know what they say about opinions...
I'm good enough.
I'm smart enough.
And doggone it,
People like me!

Today the forums are brutal it took me 6 trys just to respond to this post.
I keep getting Page not found messages. and I have to hit the back button and try over and over.
every other site is fine. and I'm running DSL.
the Cookie thing is not a factor as of now.

The delay problems have nothing to do with Avatars, stars, or any of that extra fluff. It's because the new v6 UBB is CGI script based and the CGI script is taking up way too much CPU time. Looks like this beta release didn't fix it. Must be frustrating for DriverGuy.
