Post small problem concerning deleted member numbers

Whenever I try to view private messages, it says "member profile corrupt: 0000192", this also happens when viewing very old topics.

I think it has to do with this being darren's old member number.

Perhaps there is a way you could "fill in" this number with a fake account (or even Darren's current account) so I can access my sent messages (as this error cuts off the bottom of the page) and so I can read old topics. I am sure I'm not the only one with this problem.

I know for a fact that UBB 6.0x uses one file per account, titled with the user's member number, so i don't imagine this would be hard to do. not sure how 6.1 works though.

    Thanks!

The way member accounts are stored hasn't changed.

Q, listen to the boy. He's absolutely right, you'll have to remember that WinDrivers was using version 5.x of UBB, then 6.0.x, then Scott downgraded back to 5.x because of the perl issues, then finally upgraded to 6.1.x which is where we are now.

v5.x didn't use member numbers, v6.x does, and somewhere in all that upgrading/downgrading, plus some of the user accounts that were deleted during that span of time, it sounds like a real mess. I'm sure our "supreme geek of the universe" can figure it out though.

I was referring to his final remark regarding diff between 6.0x and 6.1

And if Scott is lucky, he's got a backup of the 0000192.cgi file he can just restore to the server.

I forgot that we went totally back to 5.46 - I thought we went back to an early version of 6. You'll have to forgive me...we've been short staffed all week, and I'm about to go nutz!

OK, whenever he sees this message

Y'know whats weird though? Darren's number is the ONLY one that causes problems-- all the others handle the error properly by saying "User does not exist" or "unregistered" instead of cutting off the entire page. Damndest thing.
