Exclamation CDRW fails at 8x in 9x, but not me

    Wierd one here.
I tried using nero to burn a cd at 8x, running 98se.... no joy. Burns at 6x ok though. Installed ME, installed Nero, and all burns fine, even 8x on the fly!
Reinstall 98se.. and still has errors "invalid write state". It's the latest download of Nero.... with all the usual via4in1 patches, etc. DMA is off (cdrom reads sloooowww if it's on)

Any ideas, before I end up dual booting.. 98 for work and games, me for burning.! stupid but maybe necessary..

Have you checked if there's a patch available for this version of Nero under Win98SE?

Are you using a SCSI or IDE burner? There might be something on your SCSI chain that is causing problems in 98, but not in ME. Try removing everything but the burner and give it a try again. IDE burner, I have no idea.
