[RESOLVED] Not to be sour but...
I don't want to sound like I'm complaining, but I don't believe that the Tech-to-Tech forum is an appropriate place to be disucssing the amount of porn found on computers. I thought that was suppose to be a Tech forum where you could go and get advice from other techs. I just thought that was a little out of bounds. That's just my 2 cents worth.

It scared me. The almost unbelievable igornance of that poster. Who is teaching the children these things? Saying the Internet started as a way to push porn is like saying the printing press was invented to push erotica.

This is insane! I like to come here for technical information, and we have kids in here trying to find porn! This is ridiculous. I thought this was a TECHNICAL bulliten board, not a porn search engine for 14-year olds.

yeah, some stupid people have come loose in the tech to tech that are posting things that have no business there, the porn, old tech quote jokes, i would think that if the topics were moved to the other forums by whoever then someone would get the hint, the sad thing is when someone replies to them seriously though.

You know, it's probably the same person using a different ID. SOme of these little AOL-er pseudo-hackers get of on that...they're also the guys that like to newk and pingflood everyone in IRC, because no one can touch them (AOL acts as a firewall)

So can we have moderators move posts to the appropriate forum or maybe delete inappropriate posts and email some kind of instructions to the poster?

Of course! It's just very difficult for us to view every single post. You are too many and we are a few!
Every user can also notify us by email, in case we miss something.

umm...i don't mean to be rude but i doubt anyone younger than ten uses this sight and anyone older than ten knows full well about what porn is i also doubt that anything on this sight [while offensive to some] will further screw up other kids.
have you talked with your kids lately? odds are they know more than you might think.

You are not rude. What I was referring to is a now closed topic. The poster had eluded to the internet being started as a way to push porn onto the public. I don't believe they came up with that idea all by theirself. Sounded like they were repeating something they had been taught about the "conspirisy" to corrupt the youth of the nation.
Personally I and my older chidren have had free access to what some consider porn. I have never believed the human body to be "dirty" nor taught them it was. Nor do I think that kids have somehow not been exposed to the same things I was when I was young.
And that is what "scared" me. Brings on nightmarish visions similar to the book 1984.
