Post A mates cdrw SCSI/IDE Error

Okey dokey.. this is driving me nuts.
K62-450 @400 else it heats up too much.
    128 ram (pc100)
    TX mobo.... Via Chipset.
    Win98se.
Runs Windows fine, installed Nero 5.0.4.8 and burn a cd. Always hangs at 6%, just as the cdrw buffer is used.. then errors with SCSI / IDE error..
I've rebuilt the thing 4 times, made many coasters. I've swapped the drive from slave to master (it's on a different channel) and it still happens... I think it could be a dodgy drive... any other ideas before i RMA the thing...?
    ps it's a philips 804k 8x4x32 cdrw ide.
and there isn't a patch anyware on nero, or philips... arghhhhhhhhh!
A General Protection Error has occured - Time to go home...

    Exclamation

U need a bigger fan for the processor.
Put the CDrom and HDD both on master on diff ide channels (cables).
    This may be the problem.
    Hope this helps.
