You all won't start the XP forum until XP is released, I see why, but...

Check this out...this post is on the Windows 2000 board on January 13th, 2000...Windows 2000 was released in February. So why was the Windows 2000 board opened before it came out, yet the XP board won't be?

Well, the easy response is that there were only a couple of mods then and maybe one got past them. You will also note that no one responded.... I'm sure there are other explanations but I hadn't been asked to mod then so I have no other insights to offer.

Personally, I'd say who cares...that was then and this is now. This site and it's rules have changed a lot over the years...as traffic increases here things that might have been ok and managable 18 months ago just wouldn't work today.

Here's my 2 cents:

The number of registered users on these forums has increased over 200% since I joined in September of last year, and there's still 4 months to go. You have been around 2 weeks on Sunday. Look at your member number, 22467. Look at mine, 7045. That's 15,422 new users since September. That is tremendous growth.

Also, the post you are referring to, was posted a couple of weeks before the release. XP is not due to be released for 5 months. That's still a little far out. I haven't even got RC 1 of win XP, yet.

I know of several reasons why .. its beta .. and the fact that that theres no tech support for it .. and not eveyone has a copy .. and we dont help on pirated copies
